Mass Awareness Programme
On
Rain Water Harvesting and Water Conservation

  CCA REPORTS 2010-11

Nud, 2nd April 2009, to commemorate the world water day, a mass awareness programme on rain water harvesting and water conservation was organized in the JNV premises by Central ground water board, north western Himalaya region, under the auspices of Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India. More than 250 children from the school along with handful of locals from this programme which contained among others speeches and presentations by various dignitaries who graced the occasion.

Among those who graced the occasion with their speeches were Sh. K.L Khajuria Addl Deputy development committee Samba, Mr. N.R Bhagat (Scientist, Central water board), Arun Kumar Sharma scientist, S.K Mohiinuddin (scientist), Ms. Sukhraj Kaur Principal JNV Nud and Sh. Raghubir Singh, the village sarpanch.

Mr. Arun Sharma guessed that the quality and quantity of water is deteriorating very fast due to very impurities. In order to protect health, it is impossible to purify H2O water by removing them.

Mr N.R Bhagat (scientist said that the lack of potable water is directly responsible millions of deaths world wide.

Mr. S.K Mohinuiddin said that the third world war could be fought for water. He told that it was important to replenish the ground water. He ended the programme saying that we have to give back to earth more than we take from it.
RAM-NAVAMI
Ram Navami was celebrated in JNV Nud on 3rd April 2009.The programme was started at 9 AM. with the lightning of lamp by the Hon’ble Principal Ms. Sukh Raj Kaur.

Many bhajans were presented by the students of different houses. A speech by Mr. Rajinder Prasad (TGT Maths) was given. He told in his speech about Lord Rama.
                                       
DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR JAYANTI

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s jayanti was celebrated in JNV Nud on 14th April 2009. The programme was started at 3:30 p.m.

At first a Bhajan was presented by the girl’s. After that a speech was given by Pooja Lashkotra. In her speech, she told that B.R. Ambedkar was born on 14th April 1891. He belonged to the “Untouchable” Mahar caste. His father and grandfather served in the British Army. He is viewed as Messiah of dalits and downtrodden in India.

A speech was given by Mr. Ravidass PGT (Geography). In his speech he told about the achievements of Mr. Ambedkar . He told that he (Ambedkar) was elected as the chairman of the drafting committee that was constituted by the constituent assembly to draft a constituent for the independent India.
                                            
POEM RECITATION COMPETITION

Poem Recitation Competition was held on 30th April, 2009 in M P Hall. All the students and staff members gathered sharp at 3:30 PM.

The programme was started at 3:45 PM. One participant from each house participated (one from girls and one from boys). There were total eight participants.

The entire participant tried their best and recited the poems of great and famous poet. The guest of the function was Sh S.K. Bhatt Vice Principal. The result was declared by him:-

1st position ____ Sakshi 10th
2nd position ____ Supriya 10th

After declaring the result Vice principal encouraged the students to participate actively in all co-curricular activities.
Earth Day Celebration

• Earth Day was celebrated in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Nud on 11th May, 2009. In the morning assembly our worthy Principal Mrs. Sukhraj Kaur told students about the environment problems and importance of trees.

• She told that “Deforestation” has caused immense harm to human beings. Unfortunately it still continues. Trees are our only source of oxygen and also ones that keep the soil fertile. They hold rain water to ground. She also told the students to plant as many trees as possible.

• After the assembly a rally was organized by the senior students of the Vidyalaya. The students made placards with the slogans:- Trees are gift of God, Don’t destroy them; Use solar energy; More plants happy life etc.

• The rally was started at 10:00 AM from the Vidyalaya. It went to near by villages and made aware the villagers of the importance of trees. The students went person to person and told them about environment problems. They told the villagers that the greatest danger today to earth is pollution not only humans but all sorts of life are in danger today. The truth is that many species have become extincts. They told that mainly there are three kinds of pollution. Air, Water and sound pollution. The solution is plant more and more trees.

• The refreshment was given to the students and the rally came back to Vidyalaya at 1:00 PM.
